CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hopefully new member, seems my paypal is under my business email so it got kind of messed up but we will get it straight even if I have to pay again. NO worries. My father-in-law passed away a few months ago unfortunately, but he left us a bunch of coins and silver and I was bitten by the bug! He knew my OCD and got me one last time. lol In three months I have amassed quite the collection and have read quite a few books trying to educate myself in currencies and coins. I am a big history buff anyway and can't believe I didn't get into numismatics long ago. Especially intrigued with error coins. Only took me 59 years! I hope I can contribute to the forum as well as learn from it. Hope to get to know everyone and happy hunting!

    Welcome aboard.

In my opinion, its very important to locate the mint marks on each of the coins - IF they have one.
The Red Book, the one that costs close to 20 bucks, usually has photos of where the mint mark is located.
A search on your favorite search engine should also do the trick.
On certain coins and denominations, that mint mark can make a big difference.

    Happy Hunting.
