CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Hello!

Hey everyone, I'm Sam(Coin). I collect mostly modern US and world varieties and errors that I find coin roll hunting (paying face value for my collection is a lot easier to justify on a grad student budget lol). I've dabbled in coin collecting since I was a little kid when my dad gave me his old collection, but I really got into the hobby seriously about two years ago and threw myself pretty hard into the error and variety niche in particular. I look forward to sharing some of my finds here on the forum, hopefully learning a lot from the experts here, and to maybe one day submitting some of my unlisted foreign and US die varieties for attribution (I have seen in other posts that there are tentative plans to begin cataloging foreign die varieties in the future). Can't wait to talk errors and varieties with you all!
