CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello, Doug here. 70 years young and starting my new collection focused on die breaks, cuds, and varieties. Mostly concentrating on pennies. I love pennies. I like to buy a few boxes and search them. I don't know exactly why. Maybe because I grew up buying penny candy at the local grocery store, selling beer bottles and soda bottles to get those pennies. For whatever reason pennies fascinate me.
Not really new to coin collecting, I had a nice collection put together starting in about 1964. Unfortunately it was stolen in the early 80's. I got back into collecting fairly recently. The old days of checking dates, mint marks, and mint production numbers, that I began my collecting with, seems mostly gone. The new ideas of errors and varieties boggled me.
I never do anything half way so I started reading and learning. That effort to learn brought me here. I am a paying member, as of today, and look forward to posting photos and asking questions. So much to learn and so little time.

Thanks Bob. I've got most of the supplies I need at the time. You folks here will lessen the learning curve. I will have plenty of questions I'm sure.
