New member here. I look forward to reading and learning about everyone and the coins they encounter. I have been collecting coins for about 2 years, my dad collected all his life and I know where I get it from. I really find it interesting and amazing to look closely at coins. Even though I think some shouldn't be viewed really close (creepy eyes staring back).
Locally, we have an antique mall that sells coins on consignment. I love looking at those and try to buy the ones I can afford. My favorites are the Ike dollar (so cool to hold in your hand) and the Peace dollar (just cause she is way cool and the symbolism of what she stands for). Morgans aren't bad either. LOL
I live the Southwest and when I coin roll hunt, I am amazed at how bad the Denver mint is on striking. Most of the coins I view are from Denver mint. Nonetheless, I have received an education on machine doubling versus doubled dies.
I look forward to the forums.
Happy collecting!
