CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Hey y'all from a Down Easter living in south east Florida. (Not a carpetbagger! LOL)

    Evening all.
My main interest is the Lincoln cent series as well as errors & varieties on any denomination (including foreign coins.) Die anomalies fascinate me.
I started like a lot of kids in grade school filling my blue albums with pocket change. Back then I could never get the hang of the grading "thing". But once I got the coin collecting bug again in 2013 the internet made it much easier to find, see, and study information. And I was hooked.

I was still getting frustrated though with how slow I was catching on to differentiating between true hub doubling and MD. I've since caught up and have a few new varieties to my name. Some are on Variety Vista and some are on doubleddies.com. Hope to add more here. I love clashed dies and have some listed as well.

My coin collecting is augmented fairly nicely by my metal detecting hobby. Both have come in handy for learning the internet ropes for posting images and forum etiquette. Glad to be here.

Many people still get frustrated. Machine doubling is a challenge for a lot of people. I have an article in my signature block that might help a bit. Over time, I will build on that, but it's as time permits.

I'm not sure Jason. What cat or what bag?

Glad you're still posting. I'll have to check in here to CONECA more often.

ps. Can't figure out how to reply to the PM you sent. No reply box is coming up.

Me? I don’t remember sending a pm. I post here, about it. Banned on LCF because the awesome “owner”. Its like owning a collector car and letting it sit. Wont sell it, wont work on it, wont clean it up. Just lets it rot in the yard. Thats LCF
