CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Let me start off by saying: Currently, I am not a paying member.

I've been collecting coins (I guess mostly American classic would be my category) on-and-off since I was a kid with a paper route back in the 60's. I'm not a key player in this hobby. I'm not a dealer, trader, investor or grader. I'm just a hobbyist. Filling holes in albums, trying to complete sets, trying to build legacy sets to pass on to family members, upgrading when possible, submitting a few coins to ANACS testing my non-professional grading stills, etc...

I've always found errors fascinating. I have a few, nothing major. Some clips, DDO's, struck fragment, struck thru's, clashes, off-centers, ragged clip, etc.

Was always amazed on exactly how those "REALLY MAJOR errors" actually escaped the mint.

    Glad to be here.
