CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Introduction and first posting

    Hello everyone. My name is Greg and my username is Frailer10. I'm relatively new to collecting, but enjoy searching and learning about errors and varieties of coins, mostly modern coins.
    I have joined with a 1-year membership and look forward to communicating with you all.

    This is my first posting.
    Here are pictures of a 1962 D penny with what I believe is an RPM. I was looking at Ken Potter's listing and this looks like one of the three varieties he listed: RPM #1 D/D east.
    The date looks like it may be machine doubling, right? I'm asking these questions to clarify these things for myself.

    Yes, the date looks like machine doubling to me. I can't tell about the mint mark. Welcome to the forum.

      Welcome to the forum Greg. We are happy you are here and hope we can help you with your questions.

      Some information you need to be aware of: Please make a separate post for each one of your coins, and post them in the appropriate sub-forum (varieties or errors). It makes it very easy to track each coin rather than searching for it here. This particular sub forum is just for your intro.
