CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    Greetings All,

Yes, my name is Buster, and that's what I've gone by since I was 3 days old. Thought that was unique enough to use for my forum handle

I'm new to the Coneca forum/site, but I've been off and on collecting coins since I was a teenager (which was quite a while ago).

I got married and had kids, thus any extra nickels (which is what I've always liked to collect), went to raising a family. So coin collecting
has been on hiatus for a number of years. Now kids are moved out, and we have a little more time to delve into coin collecting again.

I have a fair amount of general numismatic knowledge, but still have to work on my specific's in regards to terminology for errors/varieties and the such.

That's one of the reason's I'm here, so gain more knowledge and be better informed and sound like I know what I'm talking about...eventually.

I have always liked the Jefferson nickels, but they're a little well, bla. So I'm getting into Buffalo's and V's some now too.

Recently found Morgan dollars again, and those intriguing as well as challenging, to say the least.

Looking forward to spending time around the forum, and learning a lot in the process.

    Regards,
    Buster
