CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    The finger looks thinner in your example. Leads me to believe this is post mint damage.

      I don't follow..Yes the finger is thinner,but it's an extra finger...5 on top thumb.. on bottom.

        If it was doubled, it would be thicker than the normal finger. I think this is a well placed hit on the coin.

            If this was actual hub doubling, the surrounding areas would also show this doubling. It is not another finger, but as suggested, it is either a hit, or machine doubling which cuts into the design making it thinner.
