CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 2021-P Washington Quarter

I recently found (4) new quarter's that I can not find out anything about it or even if it is an IMG_20220507_124224~2.jpg(error) and only found on the Philadelphia minted quarter's. I've reached out to a few people but neither them have run across this particular one's. I was wondering if you could help or point me in the right direction. It's a small die gouge or inclusion approximately 1/16" above Washington ribbon in ponytail. Different sizes as well. One 1 particularly it almost looks like a extra "P" standing vertical but also parallel with his ponytail.

If someone would possibly have the time to examine the coin photos attached in this email and point me in right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

This is simply a die chip. It happens all the time and as the die is continually used to strike coins, the chips get bigger. There is no premium associated with this anomaly.
