CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1909 Lincoln penny newly discovered vdb

Discovery of 1909 vdb verity found. Small vdb initials reverse bottom rim of the reverse side. In order to get a clear view from the coin enlarge it on your end

I see no photo here. In addition, we would still need you to expand on what you are calling a variety. If you can do that, then we can know where to address your concerns.

The verity is the small initials engraved in the rims reverse. This is what makes it a verity all in itself. Have you ever seen any with 1909 with this vdb.

Inside the rim of the reverse note is it error that it’s located on this vdbs rim reverse and not on the base’s like all known to exist.

in my opinion, it means it might be a tad off center, south towards the rim is all.
It would not take much, maybe 1/2, 1 or 2% off center and VDB can be moved just enough.

As for the photos, I personally cannot make this photo big enough or clear enough to see enough of the VDB.
Yes, I tried to magnify it as much as I can but it is still blurry.

And yes, I know where VDB is. =)

Much better photos can be had by doing something like this:

I think I’m being redundant in replying that the vdb is on reverse inside rim. I posted more pictures. I’m awaiting the email that you offered to send me? For someone to take another look.

That was mustbebob he sent you a private message here on the forum, I think. Look to the top of this page, to the right. See if there is any indication of a new message up there, or visit your profile here to see what he sent.
