CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hello! New member here!! Mi llamo, Ron. I started collecting some as a young boy but didn't start again until 2019. I went through "growing pains" as I searched for error coins. I have a very analytical mind that can get me into trouble, but I've tamed it. LOL I am not a member of CONECA. I am a very accomplished research scientist, and the same ability can be used to search coins, just like searching mutant fruit flies, cell cultures or micro-organisms.
...I have posted regarding a smaller than expected 1949 penny but don't see it in the "new posts". The post says "visitor" on it. I'll try to figure out if I have to repost or not?

Welcome to the forum and hope to see you as a new member of CONECA sometime. Sounds like you have had a problem posting your 1949 cent. Make sure you log in before posting. Hopefully you can get this resolved soon.

        Welcome to this forum.
An analytical mind sure is helpful for this hobby.

I'm sure that won't lead you down any "rabbit holes". Coin collecting is full of them. LOL
