CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Hey y’all, I’m new here

    My name is Shannon.
    I have been collecting coins since I was a kid, and got really into errors ever since I learned about the discovery of the 1943 copper.

    I have also been collecting “tiny things”- anything I think looks cute, small enough to fit in my hand or smaller, and is unique.

    Mainly I’m a mom to a handful of great yet crazy teenagers.

    Welcome aboard. There is a craze going on, with the cheaper microscopes that can show some awesome details. The errors and varieties have been kind of scarce since 2002. The mint really started the quality assurance and quality control at the US Mints and the errors and varieties aren't escaping the mint as they did prior to 2002.
