It is a very strong die clash. That's a nice example and worth holding on to.

Thx so much for your response…I am just really confused by the shield design on the reverse and it being a 2013 coin…. Why would the Lincoln memorial die be anywhere near a shield type coin? I was thinking they must have stamped this coin on an old damaged planchet that was sitting around for years in a scrap bin or repair bin.

I did not pay attention to the date, and obviously, I am wrong. The marks do look like a memorial clash, but the more I look at it, the less certain I am. It appears that the reverse of a memorial coin was pressed into the obverse of your coin. That would make it post mint damage, or a 'garage job'. My apologies.Bob Piazza

Not a problem. I look at his ear and bridge of nose and forehead and appears to me Lincoln’s face is on top of memorial. I believe a damaged Planchet was in a repair bin or someone’s tool box and got restamped years later. I work in auto industry and stamping plants. I am a tool
and die welder. A couple people have told me they think this is a Vise job. But I don’t think they could do that without smashing the date and the Liberty and his face details. Looks to me his ear is laying on top of a groove as well as the Y in liberty. I truly believe this is an error coin out of the mint. But I could be wrong. Thanks for your input. I do appreciate it.
