CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

In my opinion, no. The weaker D should be more south. On varietyvista, the vertical bar goes about 30 percent below the primary mint mark, and starts below the top serif on the primary mint mark. You can attempt an overlay, or use tracing paper with 2 different color pencils to see if they line up with some of the other devices on the coin.

      Hello Shleppodella1,
Please, in the future, orient your photo's to a horizontal plane. It takes me a long time to correct these photo's for everyone. 1946D_Coneca_edited.jpg
I oriented the photo correctly and lined up the end of Monticello with the primary mintmark. As you can see, the end of the steps line up with the outer loop.
Now look at RPM#1 - notice the steps line up just east of the verticle bar of the mintmark? Ths above cannot be RPM#1.

In the end I agree with Gary. This is MD ejection doubling. Not an RPM.

Thank you for that information it helps greatly . I will address the photos as requested from now on and make them so I didn't even realize what I had done. Are my photos getting better now that I use my microscope vs phone & I stopped the 90° out of rotation photos at least. Photos are everything when you can't hold it in your hot little hands & I get that or at least try to.

          Hello Shleppodella1,
The photo's look grainy when they are zoomed in. Usually that "On a Camera" means that the resolution is set at 600 which is the normal setting. I take coin shots at 2500 which is most "Camera's - is the - Fine - setting. I would look and see what setting you have for the device you are shooting the actual photo.
          Hope this helps,
          Eric
