CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    1985-D 25C RPM

The MM shows a small split sherif and I can't seem to find a listing in VV.

Wow, that definitely looks like some neat doubling on the mintmark! Just curious, are there any other areas of doubling on the obverse? I don’t see any listed varieties for 1985 on CONECA either. I’m not terribly familiar with clad or Washington quarters but, as a circulation strike, mechanical doubling becomes more likely which can create even dramatic doubling.

Again, I don’t know enough to say for sure, I’m just sharing my experience hunting for varieties among US circulating coins from the past century!

Also I don’t know how that lil' Sheriff dun got split, but someone’d better fetch the Deputy to come put ‘em back together again!

I love the little bit of toning on that inner shelf of the D, I always love coins that have those tasteful recessed toning bits that accentuate their special topographical features!

      Evening folks,
I just cannot tell if that is an RPM from the Photo - I see MDD around Washington's ribbon that leads me more towards MD, If that lower serif was split more then maybe. I'd say ""Not enouph to prove an RPM""
Schleppodella1, your getting very good with the close ups, keep up the good work.
      Sorry,
