CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

This is 004 I do believe I found roll surfing. It might even get FB? It's on the cusp.

    Hello Shleppodella1,
I tried to respond to this post last night with heavy rain in our area. I got a error 1 when I tried to respond so the issues with the site are still not resolved.

When I looked at 1948-S/S RPM004, from Variety Vista, I see 3 pups. the upper serif is visible, there is also an EAST curves towards the torch AND a lower serif that is in the bottom part of the curve.

When I look at the coin above, all I see is something towards the torch. No serifs on the top serif or in the curve of the overlying mintmark.
If you want to try and photograph - lighten up the part of the mintmark towards the torch, that would be fine. My oppinion you might find out this is just localized MD.
    Eric

I dont collect many dimes, but full split bands was a Mercury dime thing. Then with this dime series, they are full torch. I think most of the bands designation was mecury dimes and the full torch is Roosevelt dimes.

Ngc has an article or two on the way they call'em....
