    1964D 5C doubling in '64' DDO

Now is this a DDO in the date in 64. It shows cookie cutter lines but the one listed in VV is different. The eye is LDS.
The mintmark is it punch bounce?

I bet you wonder why people on here hardly ever answer your posts when you reply with replys like this one.

I'm not the person qualified to answer your question, but the photos are badly focused, I'm telling you from my own experience.

Yup, that one is on my "ignore list heap". In my opinion the same attitude seems to exist on several other places.

As for your coin , the one at variety vista is an "extra thickness". I personally dont collect those and honestly, pretty much ignore them.

I can see what you are talking about. I can click the photo and i can see the coin pretty clearly. From what i can see, it appears on the top of the coin but the depth appears to be very shallow.

Typically if there are cookie cutter style lines, it means there should be decent separation between each impression. I would venture to guess the letters would be a tad bit wider than a "normal" coin ?

It is probably die deterioration but....

Eric eaxtellcoin may wander in here and offer is expert opinion on this.

            Morning Folks,
From what I see, the Date appears to be the normal size. No seperation, Cookie cutter lines like Gary mentioned. This my oppinion is just the start of MD that has not progressed into the "Shelf" appearence.

Mint mark - The die is at least LDS. We don't have proof, from an earlier die state coin that the verticle bar is raised by a primary punch, then re punched more East. The heavy flow lines from a LDS coin to me make this very hard to say yes or no. The coin if were mine would be placed in a roll - marked - maybe or possible, and wait for another, Hopefully earlier die state coin to surface.
