CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Carter1864, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to show us here? Are we talking about something to the NE of the primary "D" mintmark of something else? I can see a very light strait bar to the NE in the second photo but I really don't have a clue. Is the item raised to the field? if it is low then it is a bag mark or a hit.
    Lighting always is an issue - things can appear and disappear with the turn of the coin. If you cannot see what you believe is an RPM from at least a few points of pick up then it is probably a hit.. Interesting though..

      I am talking about something to the NE of the primary "D" mintmark on the first picture. See the two lines that are remnants of a mint mark.

        Sorry, I don't see anything that leads me to believe this is another mintmark punching. Appears to be circulation damage.
