CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

43-P_RPM#35_Original_Marker.jpgI have a question, and this one really needs an answer. Why was the original 1943-P RPM#35 that appeared in Dr. Wiles Blue Jefferson Nickel update removed?? The original coin was NOT Machine Damage. The coin in it's place now is completely different position. Here are both of my die stages to show this is an RPM.

I got confused at first since you have 1943D in the title and 1943P in the text. Have you asked the man himself? Dr. Wiles would know better than anybody if that listing had changed. I am curious as to when you assigned RPM-035 to your coin. That should narrow down the time frame of any change that occurred.

Sorry Bob, Messed up the title. Yes 1943-"""P""" Lets just say I have owned those coins for some time. In fact I know before 2005 but if you check the copyright on the publication it's circa 2000. I know I have owned those for at least my NCADD years which would put them somewhere in the area of 1995-2005.
I have e-mailed him. No answer as of yet.

I really wish I had a list of specific CONECA varieties that were delisted or reassigned. And in all case why. Was it a lack of documentation (bad photos), a reevaluation that it was something else altogether, reassigned as there were earlier listings that were delisted, or was it determined to be from a master die or a hub issue?

That said, I can only suggest the same thing as Bob, ask Wiles.
