CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Comments appreciated. This one is small but to my novice eye it looks like it may be doubling (undiscovered).

A couple of things here. First of all, if you are looking that hard to find anything that small, you are missing what searching for varieties really is. That little 'dot' could be anything from a plating bubble to a die dot. It does not show doubling of anything. You can research all you want but no one would list anything like that. Using the term 'undiscovered' is another issue. It may have been seen a thousand times, but never reported and because it is so minor, it would never be listed anywhere.
I don't want to turn you off from searching, but in reality, you need to concentrate on things like you see listed already. That gives you an idea of what is, and what is not collectible.
On the bright side, your photography is excellent. Great job!

Thank you, Bob. That is exactly the type of feedback I need. Being a novice, it's hard to know where to draw the line.

Bob, a bit more of your expertise, if you don't mind. A few days ago, I posted: 1986 D Reverse New Discovery? 02-18-2021, 03:41 PM. In this case, it's appears to be a doubling very similar to those found on other dates but never on an 86 D. Is this relevant enough to warrant posting? Just trying to calibrate my sense of appropriate posts. Thanks in advance.

I am sorry but I am not able to view those images from that post. I have a problem on my end with moderator tools so as soon as I can get them fixed, I can address those issues. Until then, on posts I can not see photos on, I will trust others for their opinions.
