Forum protocols here frown on us members providing potential grades to coins that aren't done by a third party grading service.
Another one for future reference is offering any sort of value for the coins.
I thought I would let you know, as a moderator may stop in and offer the same info as well. Just a heads' up.
the photos are clear, but unfortunately for my eyes, they are simply to small to make a good call.
I suggest matching them up to variety Vista example if you have not already done so.

Thank you for the link. I think that is going to answer my question. I did not set out looking for a valuation. I just was wanting to know if others were seeing what I saw before I sent the coin in t ok grade. I have several going in and trying to narrow it down to the best possibilities. As a 1935 30 it would be very low on the list. And I currently have over three hundred coins waiting to see if they’re going in a book or in a slab. Thanks.

The post also should be in the variety forum. We cannot zoom photo's, in the forum, so you will need to get a lot closer photo. I have to agree with Jason that, from this distance, I do not see the DDR. I would suggest buying a copy of New Photograde. The book is old circa 1972 by James S Ruddy. I still use this book on types of coins I don't normally buy. If the coin appears in this book at a better grade than advertised, at least you know you bought the right grade for coins in circulation. Eric

OK, you asked for it. I want to say something. I honestly think it takes quite a bit of growing pains in this Hobby. In my opinion, one should learn through growing pains that aren't costly and a person can learn how to correctly attribute coins. That to me, will make you or break you. Your word... rarities tells me it is either sales or investments and both are driven by the necessity to be the best you can be. I will offer an ancient old secret. Attribution of coins is only as hard as you wish to make it. These days, there are thousands of references to utilize, and it is to me at least, important to follow the ones that are tried and true. You have a coin in front of you. Given a decent set of tools to make the attribution process just a weeeee bit easier, it comes down to a logical thinking process. Approach this in a good flow and the process will evolve. It doesn't have to be written down, it has to be felt and believed in. Everyone is truly capable of attributing coins and finding those rarities that exist out there. The BEST place to experiment is.... on an auction house that offers exceptional photos as good as a microscope. Look over what they have to offer in the coins you enjoy collecting. See what treasures lay within those coins that have not already been attributed. For example, I was interested in a 1878 7 over 8 tail feather Morgan Dollar for a client. I looked at an auction house andI found one. I noticed this one was a little bit different. I could see what I thought was 5 tail feathers and I looked the coin over. I went to Vamworld and looked over a few. I decided to take a chance and purchase the 1878 8/7 TF. When it got here, All I could do is shake my head in awe, It ended up attributing to VAM38 which has Doubled Epu and the LIBERTY is one of the widest spreads known on Morgan's. I spent over what a ms63 8Tf would have cost and this variety will bring in at least three times that.Originally posted by Ra6907 View PostI’m also trying to get better at spotting rarities.
Believe in yourself and do your research. Referenre everything. Look yourself in the mirror and instead of doubt, smiles will produce. I wish you all the best, but it boils down to commitment and logical thinking.
