CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1983 Jefferson Nickel DDR?

I can see ALOT of damage to the obverse. The reverse looks like a DD.
Thank you in advance. I know I ask alot of questions.

Environmental damage (probably buried) The reverse lettering suffers from severe die deterioration.

Let me call in PNWMAKES. He has a picture of how to take pretty focused and steady photos which is basically piling up books to a good height. It offers a flat surface for a cellphone, and it's bound to allow clearer photos.

That definetly makes sense. My biggest problem is holding my hands steady. This way I can rest my elbows and it is lot easier.
            Thank you so much

I took a quick look at the REV. Definately a worn out die. Not a double die. I'm moving this post to the Die Variety Forum even though it's an older post and not a double die.
Double Die and RPM questions should be posted there.
