  • 1956-D Lincoln Cent RPM

I have a 1956-D Lincoln Cent that is an RPM. I request a little help with this one.
    I THINK its a D/D/D or more.

I would "assume" this would be listed on VarietyVista, but I cannot find an obvious match.
Coppercoins might have a match. Most convincing ones seem to be in the RPM 34-40 range.

    Evening Gary
This one I think I may have seen before, not sure. It will take me a while to look through the Wexler Listings I have, and I may have it setting in a roll if I didn't see a Wexler Match.

I have an example or two of that one as well. IMO it's a D/D/D/D but I've always considered it a bit too minor to list, so never sent it in. I have similar 58-D's with triple and quad minor RPMs in same boat. Not sure if there is anything on Wexler as I think many are not photographed yet.

        Evening,
I didn't look through 82 Listings, that was the last # I had. If I remember correctly I think I was told Wexler was around 100.

BTW there are MANY D/D/D's in this 1956-D group, let alone D/D/D/D. Without good marker photo's in the future, this one still may not get listed without a marker on the coin we can use to I.D.. Remember overlays take a lot of time and most seasoned collector's can narrow down the posibilities by the date in contrast to mintmark position. If you have multiple dies with similar position, on a minor RPM, it becomes very time consuming figuring out if it's new or a die already listed. Also, die scratches - for markers are fine as long as we don't have a gouge or a clash. once we have a die clash - all the previous scratch marker's are usually almost if not all gone... I'm not saying this wouldn't be listed - it would for sure be a 1000# for a minor. Just my two cents..

I like this MM. Congrats and wish there had been a clear answer for you on a variety number.
(for some reason it reminded me of 1952 D that had a similar lower serif.)
