CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    I just found this.Sorry about the weak picture but does this look like a Number 2 or number 5 Double Die 1942 wheat penny..

      The Double eyelid...It show as a 2-0-IV or a 8-0-IV on Coneca's site and is also listed on Coppercoins.com..

          The two dies you mentioned are nice finds, but as BJ mentioned, you must also see if the other areas of doubling exist in order to attribute that coin correctly. I think you are pointing out the strong NORTH eyelid in your photo??

              It sure looks like you have one of the two doubled dies. The direction of the spread (south vs southwest) is a key to identifying this variety. Look closely at the eyelid and bow tie, as they are a determining factor as to which one you have. Also, there are some distinctive markers on each one, but the condition of your coin may prohibit you from identifying some of them.

                I agree with Bob, it is one of the doubled dies, however, as Bob stated, it is hard to tellwhich one.
