CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1960-D BAR-022, BAR R

The 1-BAR exists over R in LIBERTY. There's a small die gouge between FIVE CENTS on reverse and MM has doubling.
P in EPU has a die chip on bottom left of post. Eye shows VLDS.

So this is what James Wiles was mentioning about the BAR on his website. He actually moved the BAR listings to the main varietyvista main page. Either that I did not notice it before

I am not a nickel collector. So unless I am doing an attribution for myself or an occasional friend or family member, I dont look at nickels much.

I personally never looked for these. I guess they could be collectible, but are they considered errors and I don't have a lot of information on these types of errors.

As the major mint errors dry up, this might be one that people can look for when searching 5c rolls.

    Happy Hunting.

This was found in pocket change obviously and I know it won't command much of a premium, if one at all but it's still rather cool to find. Yes, it's tucked down there at the bottom all by it's lonesome on Variety-Vista.

Some folks in the past have collected these, Heck I think I have a roll or so of someones collection. I'm an RPM guy so I don't pay them much attention either unless I find one etc in a BU roll - I have a place for them to go - in a tube for now!
