CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Is this site being monitored by someone at CONECA?

or is the site just for members to chat? Curious to find out if someone at CONECA views the "Attributions section" since there appears to be no activity there. The (edited) directions are as follows:

How to use the Attributions Forum

List an individual coin for Attribution in your Post. Create new posts for additional coins and do not add them to your post once it is answered. Submissions are looked at in the order they are received and additional coins added to your post will not be looked at.

Submitted coins will be viewed and responded to by CONECA Attributers and confirmed through this Forum thread. Only assigned Attributers to this Forum channel are able to comment on posts here and offer a CONECA opinion of your coin. This channel is not the appropriate place for public comments or opinions outside of our Attributers.

Once confirmed, instructions on where to send your coin(s) for further Attribution will be given through this Forum. Attribution fees are listed on our site and the Attributer will send the appropriate invoice.

I submitted a coin two weeks ago yet there appears to be no activity with it.

Is this site not functional anymore as far as attributions/examinations are concerned?

    Just curious, thx.

In my opinion, there are a few active CONECA staff members who are usually active behind the scenes in the examination and attribution forum areas.

I am not involved with CONECA, so your best course of action is to ask Jamez this question. Click on the link next to his name and send him a private message.

They are all volunteers. I cannot answer if some still work or how much time they spend on this website. If you cannot get ahold of Jamez, try eaxtellcoin .

        Hello Centwise,
I will look in the attributions part of the forum for you.

But.... I would post photo's of coins you have here to the different parts of the forum first: Double Die / RPM - Variety Part of Forum
Minting Errors - Error's part of the forum
Gemeral - Forum - Anything about coins in general - Where you found your last roll of cents. things like this or questions on if an error or a variety or not. - Should be posted here first.

Were volunteers. I've been working on landscaping a back yard - frost wall - for two months. Dug up - by hand 6" of dirt, installed 30' of drain, takes time, along with hand picking and cleaning 2" of gravel for the drain. Takes alot of time.

If you do what I've asked above, a few knowledgeable people here, may also be able to give you an answer.
        Thank You
        Eric

          Welcome back.

I have not made it through all the questions here, but I tried. I usually do 2 o 3 a night. Depends if I was exhausted after a 10 hour day outside...If some one told me I would be doing this at my age (retired), i would have probably laughed and shook my head.

I need a vacation from my self inflicted to do list.

I too just got done with the new privacy fence. This Spring, the back property line was a 75 foot run. All posts (close to 30 total) and pickets were stained prior to putting them up. The back property line I just finished. The side fence was 90 feet which was done in October-November last year. Total project was close to 360 cedar pickets, 20 gallons of Ready Seal stain, 165 feet of fence line, 4300 screws and a lot of four 2x4s between each six foot post. There is a 16 foot wide swing gate in there as well. There were two Maple trees close by and it was an adventure to find a spot to use a post hole digger. Not to mention cracking out old concrete with a 20 pound electric jack-hammer. An auger was not an option in the Spring. Too many roots. One more support post needed by the Maple centered on the back property line, but that is going to be done after it cools down.

Later, like when its below 85-96 again, I will be adding river rock at the bottom of the pickets area. The back property line pickets are 6 inches off the ground since there is a shallow water run off concrete trail that leads to a storm drain. That backs up with debris quite often. I want to reduce / eliminate soil erosion, and keep the pickets from getting too wet and molding, as well as stray cats coming into back yard.

The paver projects will wait til Fall.

Thanks Eric and I understand about the volunteer aspect -- I will repost in the variety forum.

I did post a second possible ddo variety in the attributions section that onecent1909 [John Miller] took a look at already. I do have a second coin that is a DDR, but just not sure if it is new or possibly one of the two currently known, but at a stage that is not listed. It is a 1954 proof.

Heh, just retired myself -- I thought we were supposed to be taking it easy. That is how I understood it to be, lol. You have quite the project -- I am merely getting a house ready to go on the market and packing and storing, but it is wearing me out.
