CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

        What is the weight of the cent? The 4 of the date looks suspect. It may be a counterfeit or home made 1943D. If it is not tampered with, this coin would have significant value, but I am leaning towards it not being a genuine 1943D.

          It weight 3.19 I am going through a coin bag with penny dime nickel quarters that was giving to me for helping clean her dad

            House I just found a 1982 d small date it weight 3.1 the coins are pretty bad conditions he had them in a jar and some coins they are in a plastic so this penny are from 1960 through 1980

                Was given a 1943 copper.......going through evaluation now by NGC. Stack's and Bowers told me it was a fake One dealer told me I might be disappointed but to have it submitted for grading. My reaction was that I never perceived the idea of counterfeiting a penny.....however apparently it is done. good luck .
