i'm pretty sure someone here said that they now do the MM as part of the design, no separate punch, thus no MM since like 1992 or something? Yes, it was in 1990 or 1991 that the Mint added the mint mark to the design (master die/hub) basically eliminating the RPM's and OMM's outright.
From that point on, IF a mint mark looks doubled, since it is part of the design, there are two strong possibilities. Its either a doubled die or, it's worthless doubling. For a doubled die, I would imagine more design elements should show some form of doubling as well.Last edited by MintErrors; 09-11-2024, 03:56 AM.
