1985 D Roosevelt Dime
Two color Roosevelt Dime found in pocket change, OBv is a dull silver color and the REv is a copper color. Reeds are two tones. when viewed from the side of the coin, reeds are split into two colors. The side of the coin that is copper - the reeds are the same color. The side of the coin that is silver looking, the reeds are the same color as the obverse side. Can someone tell me if this happens to coins all the time or can you tell me what kind of coin error (if any), this is?

There are a couple of possibilities for coins like this. The first is that it is missing the clad layer on one side of the coin, and the second is that it is damage from coming in contact with a corrosive liquid. Based on what I am seeing, I believe this is damage from sitting in a corrosive liquid.Bob Piazza
