CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

So, they say how much to send, but don't give you an address to send it. How counter productive is that? I looked in the magazine also and there is no address to have coins sent to be examined.

It is not counterproductive. You need to read the entire directions for attributions. You do not arbitrarily send coins to anyone without being told who to send them to. We have changed the way attributions are done to include posting photos of them here first for opinions. Once an attributer responds to your post and agrees to look at it, then you will be given all that information including prices and addresses. We are just now beginning to open up attributions on certain denominations. Please be patient, but in the meantime, you can post your coins in the appropriate sub forum for us to have a look at.

Bob, Thank you for that information. I know y'all have been inundated with bogus information that makes it very hard to conduct business. I will have some pictures taken of this Mercury dime and submit those. I was referred to this organization by Mr. Christian Merlo who is the Texas Regional Rep for ANACS here in the Austin area. He examined this coin and believes it is an error coin with a double D. He stated that since this coin could be a first error coin of this type, then hit should be handled by CONECA and ErrorScope for verification and Attribution. I appreciate your guidance in this matter and thank you. Ji, Lyle

I have tried with all the cameras I have. I will have to find a photographer to take a clearer photo.

Agreed that a different photo is necessary. Cell phone cameras have come a long way, but any time macro type photos are taken...you really need to know what you are doing. If you are thinking this is a D/D, then that would be and RPM which makes it a variety, and not an error. I hope yo can find someone or another way to get a focused closeup of this coin. I love these coins.

Thank you, I will try to get a photographer soon so that I can get this coin examined and certified.

Hello Jason, thank you for your welcome to the forum. I am still having a problem getting a better photo of the coin I want to submit for certification.
