CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Hi Joe. Your coin has a filled die where the letters of INDEPENDENCE are missing. This is normally from grease or some other product that has stuck into the recessed devices of the die. Some people do collect coins like this, but any premium is minimal.

I would suggest one coin per thread as the rules state. Besides that, you posted nothing but a picture on the 2nd one. Its obvious what you’re questioning but if you put no effort into explaining what you see, why would anyone else. The less you care, the less others will to help.

On the Kennedy, its a filled die, most likely struck through grease

                          Hello Joe,
On my end the photo is very dark. I cannot even see the date. You can try a cheap set of LED lights that scissor clamp to your desk. They are roughly $10 or a little more at Wal Mart. Then use coffee filters to de fuse the lights. This all depends on how you are taking photo's. - learn how to take photo's with the correct lighting. Back to the subject - I honestly can only see the very faint part of his face, neck and tie in the enlarged photo.. Eric

It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!
