the 1943 cents are notorious for looking like doubling when in fact they are die deterioration and or issues with the plating. There are plenty of actual doubled dies as well, so careful scrutiny with known examples is a must. The photos need to be lit better to get rid of the shadows. I just can't tell right now.Bob Piazza

Its also better to take photos that are orientated North, East, South or West so we
can take them and turn them as we need and eventually turn them right side up.
I suggest that more focused photos are far better than ones that are closer and blurred.
I downloaded the photo I cropped it and darkened it a bit. I
t looks like that area in question is much lower and shelf or step looking. It is probably just mechanical damage.
Your best best is to go to http://varietyvista.com and see if this coin date matches up (almost exactly) to any over there.
