CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Has anyone ever seen a 1943 steel penny with doubling on the date, liberty and One cent on reverse. I came across this

the 1943 cents are notorious for looking like doubling when in fact they are die deterioration and or issues with the plating. There are plenty of actual doubled dies as well, so careful scrutiny with known examples is a must. The photos need to be lit better to get rid of the shadows. I just can't tell right now.

Lighting is the number one pain for me when taking a good photo.
        Less light the better.
I use a sheer white cloth in between the light and the camera to get better results.

Its also better to take photos that are orientated North, East, South or West so we
can take them and turn them as we need and eventually turn them right side up.

I suggest that more focused photos are far better than ones that are closer and blurred.

I downloaded the photo I cropped it and darkened it a bit. I
t looks like that area in question is much lower and shelf or step looking. It is probably just mechanical damage.

Your best best is to go to http://varietyvista.com and see if this coin date matches up (almost exactly) to any over there.
