CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I am a new member, longtime follower. I am a writer, blogger, 30+ year collector, here in Alaska. I am retired from Federal Service and the USAF; the latter of which I served 22 years. I am a member of PCGS and NGC as well as a contributor to Wexler and several Facebook groups. I run a FB group for counterfeit collectible coin identification and awareness. I am also working on a value guide for the very controversial “acid dated” aka “restored date” Buffalo nickel. I was critical of it when I first heard of it, but after learning the process and my own experience with it have become a proponent of the restoration of the date ONLY. Using the process to bring out other parts of the coin for an “acid restored coin” is—in my opinion, is kin to “whizzing”.
I had considered applying to be a representative for Alaska (as there appears to be no rep here). I, however am planning on a possible relocation to Oregon this summer.

My late Granfather used to say "Stay single and your pockets will jingle". Although my pockets aren't lined with coins, my safes are.
