l have looked at different sites on Franklin Half Variety’s but I’m just not sure which where this one lands. If there is anyone experienced with these, I would appreciate your help. Thanks

Varietyvista only has a handful of DDO's that are MS. The rest are Proofs ( indicated by PR). So, in a nutshell it can only be
2, 5, 6, 11,13, or 14
I suggest reading the description that James Wiles gives, and see if you can match it up that way.
In my opinion, these can be a little minor to my tastes, but they are recognized. On your coin, the LIB looks like some severe die wear, the letters look awful flat.Gary Kozera

Thanks MintErrors for taking a look. I did look at the listings on Varietyvista. I wasn’t able to match up the Y in liberty with any of the non-proof listings as you have suggested. I guess I will just keep an eye out for any other sources that I can find. Thanks again for taking a look at this one for me.

There is another site for Franklin's that might have better photos and maybe more listings....

Thanks MintErrors, I went to that site as well and was unsuccessful. I’m thinking that I might just send it in to Dr Wiles and let him sort it out for me as the sites I have found make reference to VV listings as examples of known variety’s. Than you for your help.

The original poster, in my opinion had/has a decent eye and a decent logical common sense to his method. He probably sees something in this coin that isn't quite conveyed via the photographs presented, and it's his choice to send it in to see if it is worthy of a listing or is already a recognized variety. I am just sayin....
I'm not trying to bust anything here, just laying down my perception of the post overall. James Wiles might be a tad expensive compared to other attributors, but it's a choice one has to make. It would easily cost several times over to send it into a third party grading service, and if one wants closure on the coin, it's a good enough reason for me.Gary Kozera
